After a very short year, we had to say goodbye to our Trainee from Japan, Kota Kosugi, who helped us drastically improve our communication with colleagues overseas.
About his time in Switzerland, Kota-san told us the following:
"The one-year overseas training in Switzerland was verymeaningful: there are no Japanese managers in NX Switzerland, many people donot know which department to contact when trying to contact NX Japan, and thevolume of shipments to Japan was not so many until last year. Therefore, thefirst step was to work with the Japanese side on a project aimed at increasingthe volume of shipments (Trade Lane management). The project focused on promorates, regular online meetings with the Japanese side, create target lists,follow-up with the Japanese side based on the lists, sales leads, etc.For shipments from Switzerland to Japan, many claimsare made on the Japanese side and many decision makers are on the Japaneseside. Therefore, I felt it was more important to get more accurate informationfrom Swiss customers and to get sales leads on the Japanese side. But to be honest, the perception of Swiss companies inNippon Japan was honestly not great. The challenge was how to supply to NXJapan that how much potential business Swiss companies have, so efforts weremade to raise awareness by preparing a single slide as a promotion for NXSwitzerland and deploying it to sales on the Japanese side.Throughout the year, I believe that the recognition ofNX Switzerland within NX in Japan has certainly increased. Furthermore, thevolume of shipments to Japan has exploded and we have become the number oneJapanese forwarder in Switzerland. In the future, I expect the management to furtherincrease this volume while also pursuing profits. Personally, I plan to be assigned to sales afterreturning to Japan. I am also happy to hear that the department has many Swissshipments. Of course, I would like to keep those shipments, but I would alsolike to make use of the trade lane management skills I learnt in Switzerlandand work hard in new customer sales."
We thank Kota for all of the contributions he has made during his year in Switzerland and simultaneously welcome our new trainee, Genki Suzuki at Nippon Express Switzerland.
We are looking to continue where Kota left off and further strengthen our relationship with the Headquarter, as well as expanding this concept to other countries to further expand our Trade Lanes.
Japan has done it once more. Following their victory over Germany, they defeated Spain, the former world champion, on Thursday evening.
